"In 2010 myself and 3 others decided it would be a good idea to swim the English Channel as a 4 person relay. For the last 2 years I have been training hard and, whilst others are in bed at 6am, I would be in the serpentine most mornings before work tackling the 10 degree water temps, algae and killer swans.
Anyone that knows events knows that the hours are long so it really took some dedication to ensure my events didn't suffer whilst training and vice versa!
On the 10th October 2012 it was our time! I met my team at 2am in Dover Harbour, had a briefing with our pilot then at 3:22 exactly I jumped into the pitch black waters in the busiest shipping lane in the world with only a small light on my back.... I couldn't quite believe I was swimming the English Channel!
