Always on the look for the next big thing entertainment wise, we discovered the weird & wonderful Sam Bompas and Harry Parr. Breaking into the public as 'architectural foodsmiths', the duo have brought immersive flavour based experiences ranging from an inhabitable cloud of gin and tonic, a chocolate climbing wall to multi-sensory fireworks and the recent unveiling of cooking a 10oz ribeye with 2,100◦F lava!
During the last week of July TBA produced the Global Final of Diageo Reserve WORLD CLASS. This is the industry’s most prestigious and respected mixology competition and this year it returned to it’s homeland, Great Britain. TBA led the delivery of the creative concept ‘DISCOVER’ where bar tenders, guests, media and consumers were encouraged to discover the world’s best cocktails, served by the world’s best bar tenders.
With the last couple of months being extremely busy ones in the TBA office, the team took some time away from their desks last Wednesday (20th August) to unwind and celebrate the years achievements to date.
Turning ourselves into dedicated petrol-heads, TBA produced a successful hospitality event, working alongside long-standing client British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) at this year’s British Grand Prix.
With the warm weather on our side, the two-tiered marquee provided host to over 400 BRDC members over the course of the weekend – with an iconic ‘Great British’ theme providing a talking point throughout. Positioned on the Club’s plot of land known as ‘The Farm’, TBA worked up an exciting and engaging creative aimed at giving guests a memorable experience to go home and tell their friends about.
Following a strong start to 2014, TBA plc has announced James Manley has joined the team as Head of Production. After heading up the Midlands office for Imagination, James steps into a brand new role at TBA, managing the team of existing Production Mangers.
Continuing to deliver breakthrough thinking and live events for a number of high profile brands, TBA last year marked their 30th year in the industry and the agency-building now accommodates over 60 full-time and freelance employees. James will be responsible for the production output of the agency, as well as developing the skills and knowledge of the in-house team.
With the Events Industry Awards season in full flow, we've been reviewing old issues of our favorite publications and felt the below needed a shout out.
Following several interviews and a photo shoot at TBA Towers, the agency featured in last month's issue of Event Magazine in their monthly 'Meet the Team' page spread.
Shouting about our recent achievements, long-standing client relationships and creative vision, the feature expanded on TBA's growth since it's launch back in 1983 and captured quotes from a selection of staff around what it was like to work at the 'energetic' agency.
Thanks to journalist @SamEdwardsEvent for the opportunity and we look forward to what lies ahead working with you for the remainder of 2014.
Sunday’s were meant for the sofa and for those watching the latest C4 series ‘For the Love of Cars’ last night may have spotted TBA’s founder Tony Ball MBE on their screens. With this week’s episode dedicated to the MINI, Tony’s big break in the event’s industry came off the back of the MINI Launch, where in 1959 he was responsible for one of the ‘greatest PR stunts in motoring history’.
Another busy weekend for team TBA who were at the IndigO2 on Sunday 13th April for the Tusker Twende Kazi London finale. This marked the end of a remarkable journey one bottle of Tusker had made from Nairobi to London.
On Tuesday we pulled the ‘The Dugout’ out of the shadows and into the limelight yet again for another breakfast event at Wembley Stadium. The doors opened to the Club Wembley members at 8am with fresh smoothies, pastries and fresh fruit ready for their arrival.
The Integrated Systems Europe show at Amsterdam’s RAI is one of the world’s largest showcase forums for manufacturers of integrated electronic systems and audio visual equipment. To complement their exhibition stand at the event, Samsung enlisted the aid of TBA to help organise a press conference with the intention of drawing journalists’ attention to their pioneering business product range.
