And finally, of all of the wristband technologies that are emerging at the moment, a few in particular caught our eye:
Put very simply, the iPourIt wristband customers allows customers to pour their own beer (or wine) straight from the tap. This wristband will record a customer’s bank card details and allow them to swipe and charge all of their drinks directly to their accounts, thus reducing the waiting time at bars. However, it also means that customers can sample just a small amount of a drink and be charged accordingly, allowing tasting events to work for both customer and vendor. By linking the band to a user’s smartphone, it is also possible to gather instant user feedback and statistics in real time!
Xylobands are radio controlled LED wristbands that can be used to create audience engagement at large crowd events. The bands are illuminated by LEDs, and can be radio controlled to create stunning visual effects using flash patterns to radically upgrade the old ‘lighters in the air’ moments during concerts.
XOX Emotional Technologies
“XOX is a new emotional technology platform that enables brands and artists to track users’ emotional states, collect data and tailor services and experiences for both individuals and large audiences.”
Users wear wristbands fitted with biometric sensors that gather information on their emotional responses to stimuli. This raw data can then be used in a number of ways, e.g. to create live visuals that chart group responses in graphical form.
