London is plentiful in rooftop dining venues but Sky Garden is the latest edition, not to mention the tallest rooftop venue in London, catering for a whopping 450 guests. The venue, which was originally due to open summer 2014 is now due to open this month, comprises of two restaurants, a café, bar and landscape gardens in the form of a viewing platform, spanning 45,000 feet in total. The capacities range from 16 to 250 guests with the option to hire the entire venue for maximum 450 guests. The Sky Garden, installed by the same team that devised the gardens within the Olympic Park, alongside some experts from Kew Gardens, offers an innovative event space set in a beautiful landscape garden, both inside and out.
The entirety of Sky Garden spans 3 floors with panoramic uninterrupted views of London from its central location in the heart of the city. There are separate dedicated event spaces as well as the two restaurants; Fenchurch Seafood Bar & Grill on level 37 and Darwin Brasserie on level 36. The SkyPod bar sits on the 35th level, and is deemed as London’s ‘taste of seasons in the sky’. In Autumn and Winter, guests can indulge in hot cocktails, cashmere blankets and lavish comfortable furniture. In turn, throughout Spring and Summer, guests will be soaking up the sun within tropical gardens whilst lounging in deck chairs and supping on boozy ice creams.
Owned by the University of Westminster, they are working with a team of Architects to bring back to life the venue that is home to British cinema. The venue was originally used to premiere the first ever Moving Picture Show in the UK by the Lumière brothers.
This iconic building to the British Film Industry has been closed to the public since 1981 and 34 years later, we are expecting the grand opening in April 2015.
The venue will be available to hire for events such as private screenings and product launches. If you are a Film Industry fan and fancy aiding the future of cinema, put your name in the limelight and help the University of Westminster to raise the final funds by allowing supporters to have a seat named after them.
The venue will offer not only a state of the art cinema but also an auditorium for guests to enjoy before being seated. The cinema can seat a maximum 200 guests, is located in the West End on Regent Street and offers impressive architecture. This is a stylish, timeless and perfect venue for private screenings, product launches and all things film, production and cinema.
